The Team
Our team is composed of Dr. Filip Loncke and his group of graduate and undergraduate researchers. Each member brings a unique perspective and skillset to the lab, contributing to our collective knowledge and expertise. We are passionate about our work and committed to advancing the field of psycholinguistics.
Dr. Filip Loncke
Filip Loncke, Ph.D., obtained a Ph.D. in Neurolinguistics from the University of Brussels. He has lectured and published on a variety of topics, most of them related to psycholinguistics and educational and clinical applications of language and communication flexibility.
Since 2003, he teaches and conducts research at the University of Virginia – including courses on Augmentative and Alternative Communication, Psycholinguistics, Speech and Hearing Science, and Linguistic Diversity.

Cami Lord
Graduate Student
Cami Lord is a second-year graduate student serving as the graduate assistant for the "Minspeak" Lab. She is currently studying Speech Language Pathology here at the University of Virginia

Jenna Franklin
Graduate Student
Jenna Franklin is a first-year graduate student studying Communication Sciences and Disorders, and is in charge of assisting and leading undergraduates in their distinguished major projects.
Hannah Madren
Graduate Student
Hannah Madren is a graduate student at the University of Virginia in the Communication Sciences and Disorders program. In the Psycholinguistics Lab at UVA, she is the principal investor for the bilingual and bicultural interviews project.
Olivia Anderson
Graduate Student
Olivia Anderson is a first year masters student in the Communication Sciences and Disorders program. She is the graduate research assistant for the lab. Currently, she is working on the project about the relationship between voice onset times and different languages.
Maria Acosta
Undergraduate Lab Coordinator
Maria is a fourth-year Psychology major on a pre-health track. At UVA, she is involved in Hoos Connected and Madison House. In her free time, she enjoys reading, exercising, tutoring bilingual kids, volunteering at clinics, and spending time with friends and family.
Dylan Stanford
Undergraduate Lab Coordinator
Dylan Stanford is a fourth-year Echols Scholar at the University of Virginia. She is double-majoring in Cognitive Science and Psychology, with a minor in Data Analytics. She is a lab co-coordinator with Maria, and is also helping plan the International Belgium Seminar with Dr. Loncke.
Vibha Maheshwari
Undergraduate Lab Coordinator
Vibha is a fourth year Cognitive Science (with Computer Science) major at the University of Virginia. She is interested in Natural Language Processing and is planning to get a Masters Degree in Artificial Intelligence after graduation. In the Psycholinguistics Lab, she is helping with coding ML models in the Bilingual Interview Project.
Cartlie Vincent
Undergraduate Lab Coordinator
Hello! My name is Cartlie Vincent. I’m a fourth year undergraduate student majoring in Speech Communication Disorders (SCD) in the School of Education and minoring in Anthropology in the School of Arts and Sciences. While in the SCD program, I have had some great opportunities to further my interest and knowledge in the field such as participating in research with Dr. Lonke and going to Belgium for Jterm study abroad.
